Spinal Orthotics

How it works

Spinal orthoses are used to treat a variety of conditions caused by injury or illness in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. Evaluations for off the shelf and/or custom braces are performed by our skilled, certified practitioners for pediatric, senior and sport spinal orthoses. The braces are fabricated from ultra-light materials and provide spine stability for improved function & decreased pain during the healing process. We also offer our own in house fabrication facility with certified technicians to modify and adjust braces for improved comfort and function.

Our Approach

Orthoses were traditionally made by following a tracing of the extremity with measurements to assist in creating a well-fitted device. Subsequently, the advent of plastics as a material of choice for construction necessitated the idea of creating a plaster of Paris mould of the body part in question. This method is still extensively used throughout the industry. Currently, CAD/CAM, CNC machines and 3D printing are involved in orthotic manufacture.

Unique Framework

We ensure to fit the orthosis according to the patient’s requirements. Over-the-counter braces are basic and available in multiple sizes. They are generally slid on or strapped on with Velcro, and are held tightly in place. One of the purposes of these braces is injury protection.

Cervical collars

Cervical collars provide necessary rigid support for post-operative patients as well as people with arthritis and other painful conditions. They are used to reduce pain and facilitate healing.

Cervical Thoracic Orthosis (CTO)

Cervical Thoracic Orthosis (CTO) provide moderate to maximum stability in the cervical and upper thoracic spine for post-operative patients to reduce pain and inflammation and promote healing.

Soft LSO & TLSO

Lumbar Sacral Orthosis LSO(Left)provide comfortable moderate support for the lumbar spine for stable fracture injuries, spinal stenosis and many other injuries and painful conditions.

Thoracic Lumbar Sacral Orthosis TLSO(Right) provide soft moderate support for lumbar and/or thoracic spine for compression fractures, flexible kyphosis and many other injuries.

Custom LSO & TLSO

Custom LSOs(Left) provide maximum control of lumbar spine in all planes. They are most often used for vertebral body fractures and spondylolisthesis.

Custom TLSOs(Right) provide maximum control of lumbar and thoracic spine in all planes and are used most often post-operatively for spinal fractures and injuries.
